I am mobile and a lot of times when I'm detailing in a neighborhood or in an office complex etc.. people will come and ask me abut my services and prices. I often stop what I'm doing and chit -chat for a few minutes and explain my services and prices and give them a business card. However I get very little business from these conversations and it seems like most folks are just window shopping or just seeing what I'm doing. Does anyone else have luck with these types of situations. I have a script that I try to stick to and I usually ask them about there day or dog or whatever but it seems kind of like a waste of time.

Don’t give them price until you have an opportunity to see and evaluate the vehicle. Giving a price closes the sales window immediately. You got to evaluate the vehicle in front of them so they can learn from you what the vehicle needs. If the consumer doesn’t see need they don’t buy. Create need then price.
